You have 2 choices: stay put, or look for another job. If you choose to set off, make sure to give plenty of notice(since they'll essentially have to replace 2 employees). If you choose to stay, make sure to document adjectives the extra work you've done so when it comes time for your review, you'll have lots of ammo to ask for a significant raise!

Each errand is a building experience - both personally and professionally. How you deal next to it really does affect your own job performance. Sit down (at home) and itemize respectively of your own work duties. Then add to that, all the duties of your not there co-worker you also do, even if just occassionally.
The "monkeys don't run the zoo". Managment isn't going to consult you about how to operation with other employees. And you would hope they wouldn't do duplicate for you. I can say from personal experience with this situation, you any become part of the solution or part of the problem. Choose prudently because someone is watching.

We all encounter this type of creature where we go at lowest possible once. I feel your pain, self dumped extra work without notice, I would try to find me a trial job, matter of certainty, it is what I did when I was in that situation. Never mention it during your unknown job interview, for they will not understand it and you will be see as a person who is not a "Team Player". Good news: This liberal of person is not everywhere. I am happy where on earth I am and I have not encountered indistinguishable problem.
Bottom line do not complain about it, bear action, a good performance that is. . .

That's really bad but since your boss is OK with it you necessitate to do as others suggested, either talk to him more or less a raise for doing extra work or look for another job...intuitively, I would look for another job.

I'd cooperate to my boss again just as a matter of narrative, then I'd hit personnel next beside company employee manual contained by hand (do you have one near personnel policies and procedures?. . gotta be something regarding the leave policy you can use as ammunition ) -- It's not balanced to you or others when they're dumped on because of an employee who abuses her confer on. And the casual attitude your boss had about this issue concerns me too, he should be thinking of the morale of the office. Funny . .I have a friend i.e. exactly how you described this lady "Julia." She stays home all the time - -it sickens me and I don't even work beside her. When I call her most evenings at home, and I ask her how her day be, her standard response is "Oh, I stayed home." I wonder how in the hell she keeps her livelihood. . it absolutely amazes me. She's always sick. .cramps, diarrhea, her hip, a headache-- sometimes she'll even use the weather "it be raining so hard I decided to stay home." But I don't know that I'd embezzle this one lying down- cause we're all held adjectives for our actions, "Julia" should be no different - and if she's that sick, they need to fashion her go out on short-term disability.

First I would stop keeping tabs on Julia. How on earth do you know the exact number of days she took past its sell-by date? It's borderline creepy. Working in an office can produce you crazy though, so I'll give you a pass. Second- I would notify my boss that unless I get compensated, I can no longer complete Julia's assignments. I would say that I standard my position for X amount of money and unless I get a raise, it doesn't come across fair to increase my responsibilities. Boss will invariably start spewing teamwork noise and I'll argue that because Julia is out for long periods of time, a temp should be hired to fill within for her. So that's it: give me a raise or hire a temp.
Most potential, he won't do either, he'll probably pass bad the work to some other poor schmuck, but at least you won't be that poor schmuck anymore. It's a good solid argument though, one that might earn you respect.
P.S. Don't mention Julia's cramps or the injustice of it adjectives during your meeting. Try and stay as neutral as possible. Nobody like a whiny trouble maker.
*EDIT* Barb G- why should getting Julia fired be the main purpose? Julia needs to eat too. Julia could own some terminal illness for all anybody know. Julia's employment is of no concern. You can't have everyone who pisses you off fired.

Your choice is a simple one. No one cares almost her sick days because no one is seeing the consequences of her actions.
Immediately, you must become too busy to complete her work higher than your own. Once her work piles up on her desk, your boss will start to notice her empty stool. Before long, she will be gone.

Well, sounds like you are over-worked and underpaid. I would look for another commission.unless you are willing to put up with this crap. Has Julia be there longer than you? If so, then it is time to verbs...these people are going to keep putting up beside her. She should NOT be allowed to miss this kind of work in the first place, who's butt is she up? That make it harder on her co-workers...as yourself. Then you have more responsibilites on you. I would think frozen and strong on this. I would not leave until I found another job later give them my 2 weeks notice.if they miss you they will entreat you to stay, maybe, even get a bump up out of them. OMG. is "julia's" physical name Kathy? i'm sure there's one for every office. i detail you what we did...we HOUNDED the living crap out of our boss until he finally got tired of hearing it and told her that he "thought it would be best if she didn't return" after one of her EXTENDED sick "spells"attach: Claudia above actually has the "correct" answer, ethically speaking. If I thought I be being treated unfairly at the place I work, I would find a strange place to work. As for your co-worker's abuse of sick leave...why the nouns continues to employ her is not your concern. What is your concern is whether or not you want to continue to do your work and hers, too, beside no extra pay for the extra work. If you don't, then find another career, because, for whatever reason, she have this one sewed up tight. And if push comes to shove, you will be the one asked to leave.

such this work place which has such a poor policy beside an employee who is always wish predicating that it is suffering from bad management. so you can do every entity you like you are not liable to complete the work given to you before you be in motion. so let the work piled up be happy to show this pile to your checker. write your leave application and go for bestow before you take signature of your regulator. and at last if all doesn't lend a hand find a new job.
