My co-worker shouted at me about an email (nothing objectionable in the email, he purely doesn't like the attitude he said. if I could put attitude in an email, it would be great).

I go to his boss and after 1 hour he came back and apologized. I am greatly poor in assessing sincerity so how do i know he's really sincere or he's just making me lower my guard so that he can stab me from at the rear later?

Personally, I don't think anyone should be shouting at anyone at work. That is most unprofessional and undignified. And, obviously,
embarrassing, most of all when a character overhears or finds out that people are acting up in the work place.

I would influence that a brief handshake would constitute 'I'm truly sorry for what I did." And I think that the "ROBE" have written it all down quite other! Good job and good answers to you to heed. But, Dr. Evil, never, ever agree to your guard down. It is a dog-eat-dog world we live in and don't ever forget that! Trust me because I definitely speak from experience! ;)

1. Did you confront the co-worker almost their inappropriate behavior in a constructive bearing to attempt a solution before going to the boss? It's not only the right item to do (you may be able to head sour larger problems this way for the future) but it also earns respect from your colleagues. You don't want to gain a reputation to running to paperwork if it can be avoided. If it cannot - OK, understood. But be sure you attempt a resolution before going to others. You want to be see as a problem solver, not a problem identifier.

3. Most importantly for behavioral indisgressions - don't give an account me what you plan to do - show me. You'll see if the actions change. That's the best indication of someone one sorry.
