I worked at Dillard's before. Some people start at $9.00 but a girl that be with me at orientation started at $8.50 for some defence. I don't think any department offers commission very soon except for shoes but you have to reach a personal selling quota surrounded by order to get a bump up and if that quota is not reached, your payrate is decreased by going on for 10%. I would not suggest working there unless you work in one of difficult end areas like Polo or if you're really suitable at selling.
