I basically started a topical website, we enjoy the view but not the sale. Whats your evaluation?

I recently started an on-line hurricane supply website. Its set up, we have several race that view the site, but no one buys anything. Is the format wrong, is it not catchy plenty. Please give me your opinion just about my site. Keep in mind that I have thoroughly little computer experience and don't know all the lingo.

What is marketing?

Online job, do they really work?

damn 'Steve D' i craving i could give you 10 points.
good answer

the site is a bit crowded and confusing simplify, simplify, simplify and use links to tie it adjectives together

The commission is 6% on adjectives sale...

Just view your page and the first thing I thought was "Way too much info and approach too much reading"...then as I looked closer, I thought, not only be this way too much reading, but it didn't hang together - Living within Maryland, I doubt I will use a tree service out of Broward...to me, that was just thin space. Rather than put the big paragraph there, why not set up a tree service home page separate from the hurricane supplies and put a link to it..something close to a simple "For our Broward County neighbors, don't forget about Beryl's Tree Service" - The link would appropriate them to the tree service page and the hurricane supply page would become "cleaner."

Next, do you actually sell the 100-piece first aid apparatus? If so, a price and a direct "Buy Now" link would be nice. Rotate the product on your front page (and use a smaller picture - it will load faster and look better - you can other link to a larger picture that would open surrounded by a separate window)

Now the biggie - give me advice...write a short piece on preparing for hurricanes (and other automatic disasters). Write it often and post it on the front page - keep it relatively short, but preserve it fresh. For example, start with a three or four paragraph story on using hurricane clips on roofs. Maybe a few paragraphs on what to look for within a generator. How about emergency procedures during a hurricane or other natural disasters. Link the stories to your products but don't firm sell.

This will keep folks coming final to your site and eventually they will find something to buy. Use your imagination - you don't even have to directly sell - you could do a rapid series on the biggest baddest hurricanes.

Also, think crossover - I am sure there are things here that folks contained by Tornado alley could use...sell to them also.

But most of adjectives, simplify the site...if a web page is too busy, people seize turned off and go elsewhere.
